Diabetic retinopathy is one of the serious complications which can damage the capillaries in the eye parts. This complication has become the killer to the sight. Experts in Zhongshan University said that In recent years, with the rapid increase of global diabetes patients, due to diabetic retinopathy blindness also showed a trend of rising sharply. It not only affect the number of people,but also the population distribution. It mainly involves the elderly before, now many young people also being influenced as well.
Diabetic retinopathy is an irreversible, blinding eye disease. Patients in early diabetic retinopathy, generally have no obvious symptoms, but the disease can be found by fundus examination, including indirect ophthalmoscope, fundus fluorescence angiography and found that diabetic retinopathy. Along with the development of pathological changes, diabetic retinopathy can lead to a drop in varying degrees of vision, eyes shadow flap, see things deformation and many other symptoms. Severe cases can also appear such as vitreous hemorrhage, retinal detachment, and lead to severe vision loss.
The experts pointed that the primary treatment of diabetic retinopathy is to control blood sugar. The other treatment for diabetic retinopathy main are treatment drugs, laser and vitreous retinal surgery. But the surgery has risks. And the immune system of the diabetes patients is relatively low then the infection rate will increase. So before doing the surgery the first requirement is to do a general condition for a strict monitoring and evaluation.
